Musician Common, a Chicago native, is expressing strong support for Barack Obama (also from Illinois) in the upcoming primary. Here are 2 things askew with this matter:
- In Common's song "Real People," Common blasts interracial relationships, particulary those involving black men and dreadlocks. Good thing Obama (of mixed ethnicity and participant in an interracial marraige)has a crew cut.
-Common made bigoted statements at an Emory concert regarding the "black princess" who accused members of the Duke Lacrosse team of rape. In March of '07, Obama sympethisized with the woman by calling for a federal investigation of the prosecution for witholding excupatory DNA evidence.
Common and Obama seem to share a lot in common. Pause. Not. Further evidence supporting that celebrity political endorsements are worthless.
